We recently went on a trip south of Perth to visit the Manjimup Wine & Truffle Co. It's truffles season in Australia between May to August. If you love the smell of this beautiful but expensive fungus, you must visit this place and participate in their truffle hunt.

We feasted on this amazing gourmet delicacy during our visit and paid $9 per 3 grams to have more truffles added to our meals!

Super Yummy Juicy Steak with Pate, wrapped in puff pastry on truffle mash potato with added extra serving of truffles
For this culinary trip to the south, I've decided try this red hot nails decked out with blings!

I've been looking around for a bright red nail colour and it was love at first sight when I saw this.
OPI - Red Hot Ayers Rock! The red hot part was absolutely correct :)

Ooh you should visit San Churros. They've got chocolate truffles. So if you love chocolate, you'll be in choc haven. XD

And love the nails~ They look sexy. X)

Thank to Melissy! I've been to the San Churros in Freo before. They make really good chocolates. However the truffles I am talking about here are actually a type of fungus that grows under ground. The one harvested in manjimup is the black truffle and they simply smell amazing! I love both fungus truffles and chocolate truffles. Hehe but the fungus version, I can only have once in a while. 1 kg can cost between $4000 to $8000. They don't call it black gold for nothing. ;)

Hi Jin, well you know the place to visit in Perth. I'd not even heard of this before! The food looks delicious! What do truffles taste like. I mean I like blue vein cheese etc but is the taste as pungent with truffles?

I LOVE the nail colour. That's divine! Your nails look stunning!

Hi Danielle, truffles don't really have a taste to it. It's got a very strong earthy smell, that's somehow very pleasing. I personally like it a lot, but my husband thinks it's too strong. I know people who can't smell it at all. It's really weird, I don't know why. The annual truffles festival held at the end of July in Mundaring is a must go if you are a foodie. I missed this year's event due to work commitments. But I got my friend to buy me some truffle butter. It's super yummy with pasta or with scrambled eggs!
I'm really in love with this red colour. It looks really good on toe nails too. Think I'll be wearing this colour a lot this summer :)
