I see it everywhere in the shops from clothing to accessories. This nail art incorporates leopard print, but in a soft and pretty kinda way.
I used 2 colours for the base, however they look very similar you can hardly see the difference in these photos. OPI - Your Royal Shyness is used nearer to the cuticles and MAC - Cream Light Jinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06746243642122928115noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5443954813955810284.post-61441514754950795002012-04-01T02:43:00.000+08:002012-04-01T02:43:00.065+08:00Red Rose Nail Art with Dior's WaterlilyDior - Waterlily a nail polish colour released from their spring collection. I walked past the Dior counter a few weeks ago and this nail polish immediately caught my eye. It's a very unique green that gives off a wonderful scent of roses once it's dried.
Since this nail polish smells like roses, I decided to hand draw some red roses to compliment it.

It started when my dear hushand bought me a bright yellow handbag during our anniversary. From that day on, I bought quite a few bright coloured, shoes and nail polish ...hehe it's so nice to be surrounded by all these cheerful colours.
Sorry about the picture quality on some of these photos, they were taken from my handphone.

I love this blue nail polish with white lace nails. The best thing about them was that they were very simple and quick to create. Just nail polish, wait for it to dry, apply the nail stickers, finish with top coat and you're done. My sister bought these nail stickers for me from Sasa.

Nail polish used was OPI - Yokohama Twilight

Recently, I added OPI's GONE GONZO! to the collection. Since some of these glitters were pretty sheer, I decided to use them to re-create a summer sea turtle, frangipani theme nail art I originally saw in a nail magazine.
First I applied 3 coats of OPI's Happy Anniversary.
Then using these Jinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06746243642122928115noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5443954813955810284.post-75991509128471604092012-03-03T01:54:00.000+08:002012-03-03T01:54:55.821+08:00Cool Blue Summer Nails and Oh I love Rainbow Connection! After taking such a long break from nail art, these were the first set I made. Sorry I've been away for nearly a whole year! For those who know, I was very busy last year with house moving. It was so stressful and hectic but very fun at the same time. I'm finally settled into my new place with most of the issues sorted out.
During the most part of the second half of last year, my nails were kept very short and with no nail polish on. It's for a 9 year old friend of mine that's very fascinated with nail art! They were really tiny and cute. Although it's a really simple nail art, but she was really delighted with them!
Look how small they are next to the orange stick!
This Sunflower Lamp is my latest toy. For some reason, I'm very drawn to this nail design and have since created 2 similar versions. The first time I created this set of nails was back in December 2010. I like it so much, I've made a similar set last week, with some slight variations. This is the first time I've worn the same design twice is such a short span of time!
It takes me approximately 4 hours Jinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06746243642122928115noreply@blogger.com20tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5443954813955810284.post-85572130911029166862011-03-06T18:25:00.001+08:002011-03-06T18:26:34.126+08:003D Gel Teddy Bear Love LetterI saw this set of teddy bear nails in a nail magazine for Valentines Day. It looks so adorable, I just had to make a set for myself! For this set of nails, I used 3D gels instead of acrylics as they are really easy to mould and will not harden until you cure them under the UV light. That way, you can shape and reshape all you want before setting the design. The only draw back is the longer time Jinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06746243642122928115noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5443954813955810284.post-25915043984833479812011-02-20T21:47:00.000+08:002011-02-20T21:47:17.154+08:00Black Lace nail art with 3D acrylic bowI made this set of nails for a friend using pink gel, black fabric lace, which is embedded under clear gel.
I also made some 3D acrylic bows and outlined the edges with silver glitter. It really makes a lot of difference to outline black acrylic bows. It seems to pop up so much more!

But I also wanted it to be a bit glam. Nothing more appropriate than glitter and hearts for Valentines day!
For this mani, I bring together OPI's 'Glitzerland' and OPI burlesque collection's 'Glow Up Already!'. The glitter in 'Glow Up Already!' has a bit of gold and green in it. It matches quite nicely with the pale gold 'Jinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06746243642122928115noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5443954813955810284.post-50257113108521235372011-02-08T01:42:00.001+08:002011-02-08T01:43:27.134+08:00Chinese New Year Nails 2011 Part Two - Rat-bits?My attempt to draw rabbits was an epic failure! haha but I've going to post them anyway.
The funny thing is that I'm actually getting mixed reactions for this. Some little kids saw my nails and they say cute bunnies. My relatives say it looks like an albino mouse. This is my first time creating embedded acrylic flowers. They are a little bit more time consuming but they certainly look very pretty. I've decided to create a tutorial for this post. Hope you'll give this a try too.

For some reason, I had a design mental block and threw away several nail designs before I came up with the final set.
My friend's wedding dress was cream and gold and her evening gown was a beautiful emerald. I wanted to create a set of nails that's suitable for a Spring/Summer wedding that incorporate all the above Jinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06746243642122928115noreply@blogger.com16tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5443954813955810284.post-24923217711968636852011-01-01T20:10:00.001+08:002011-01-01T20:13:47.668+08:00New Year Nails 2011Happy New Year! 2010 really went by in a flash.I hope everyone had a great New Year celebration :)
I have a lot of projects planned for this new year. My new house is going to be ready very soon. I have so much to organise and plan before and after moving in. It's back to work for me tomorrow. Hope it doesn't get too busy these couple of weeks. I think everyone is in holiday mode at this time of the year.
I wanted something cheerful and season appropriate. This is what happens when candy cane strips gets mixed up with a summer 3D acrylic flower design hehe.

I noticed that the title is a bit of an oxymoron, because if you were to wear a neutral colour, you would want to keep it natural. The problem for me is that I don't usually wear skin tone nail polish and wearing it just by itself seems a little bit too bare Jinhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06746243642122928115noreply@blogger.com16tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5443954813955810284.post-25854346331765774312010-12-05T00:44:00.000+08:002010-12-05T00:44:51.363+08:00Nails for the RacesMy colleague have been flying over to Melbourne the past 3 years to attend the annual Melbourne Cup event. For people who don't know what it is, it's an annual horse racing event held at the Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne. I know many people turn up dressed in their best. I nearly died this afternoon when the thermometer registered 39 deg.c! This beautiful orange colour 'OPI - In my Back Pocket' was one of my recent purchase. Imagine my excitement when she said she was coming over to visit me! We spent 2 gorgeous weeks together, just hanging out and catching up like sisters do. I wished we had more time together!
During her visit I made 2 set of nails for her. I think out of all my nail polish collection, this is the third yellow nail polish I bought. My skin tone doesn't really go well with certain yellow and green, but I really like this colour on. I used a dotting tool and white nail polish to create the polka dots. The blue roses were drawn on using acrylic paint.
