This set of nails was created on full cover nail tips, made specially for my dear friend Wendy who got married in December last year. Her favourite colour is purple :) I was afraid they were a bit too long but it looked absolutely perfect on her!

Nail polish used was OPI - Yokohama Twilight

This is the tiniest set of nails I've ever done. It's for a 9 year old friend of mine that's very fascinated with nail art! They were really tiny and cute. Although it's a really simple nail art, but she was really delighted with them!

This Sunflower Lamp is my latest toy. It gets really dusty in my nail room whenever I use my nail drill or nail file. This Sunflower Lamp is a table top light and a dust collector. When you turn it on, a fan will start spinning inside to suck up all the dust. All you need to do is to remove the dust from the collection bag inside after each use.

It looks really bulky!

With Chinese New Year just around the corner, I've created a set of red embedded acrylic rose design for my sister.

This is my first time creating embedded acrylic flowers. They are a little bit more time consuming but they certainly look very pretty. I've decided to create a tutorial for this post. Hope you'll give this a try too.

First you'll need some red colour acrylic powder and some monomer.


I'm using a nail tip here for demo but if you're applying over your natural nails, remember to prep it as you normally would for acrylic overlay.

 Apply an even layer of the red acrylic over your nails.


After the acrylic hardens, gently roughen the surface with a nail file.


I've got 2 types of gold glitter here. One is an extra shimmery gold glitter and the other is a flaky glitter.


Apply the flaky glitter at the top part of the nail and the other one at the bottom of your nail.

Looks like blood!

Allow the acrylic to hardden and dry out. Then use an electric file to file back the clear red acrylic until the white rose petals start to appear. You can manually file it back as well, but the electric file will definitely be faster.


Use a finer file to even out the nail and then apply a layer of gel to seal it.


These are some of the other nails that I've created using the same method. You can also just embed the gold glitter and flaks. They look very nice on their own as well.






Happy Chinese New Year!

I've recently created a set of wedding nails that took me ages to complete. For some reason, I had a design mental block and threw away several nail designs before I came up with the final set.

My friend's wedding dress was cream and gold and her evening gown was a beautiful emerald. I wanted to create a set of nails that's suitable for a Spring/Summer wedding that incorporate all the above colours.

I had to discard these nails because they didn't pass my strictest critique (my dad)!




The big green glitter was making it look really busy and the dried flowers were not bright and glam enough for a wedding, said my critique :) These were the final set created after some additional input from my critique (thanks dad!).

My colleague have been flying over to Melbourne the past 3 years to attend the annual Melbourne Cup event. For people who don't know what it is, it's an annual horse racing event held at the Flemington Racecourse in Melbourne. I know many people turn up dressed in their best. Women attend this event in beautiful dresses, elegant hats or fascinators. The best dressed man and woman stand a chance to win substantial prizes! What I didn't know was that other than the actual Melbourne Cup day, there are lots of other events during the race week. Like Derby Day where it's traditional to wear only black and white (It reminds me of Audrey Hepburn in 'My fair Lady').

For such a special event, I created a set of nails for my friend to match both her black and white dress on Derby Day and the pink dress on Melbourne Cup day.

Big 3D acrylic Ribbon

My colleague recently got married and I gave her this set of nails to match her watermelon red evening gown. On the wedding day, I realised that the colour also matched her hand bouquet!



 I've got lots of pretty Spring nail colour nail art lined up. Stay tuned! :)

I've just completed this set of nails for my sister-in-law who was attending a dress up party. She wore a cute Kimono that had a black and white coloured Obi (Sash). I did this for her to match the Obi.

Thanks to Cyan from Blue Tape and Nails who gave me the idea to use painter's tape for creating this nail art.



When I first saw this being used for nail art, I had a 'why didn't I think of that' moment. It's a really great way to cover up parts of your nail especially when you're painting different colours onto your nails. I bought this painter's tape for delicate surfaces. As you can see it's got a low-medium adhesion so it should not rip off your nail polish.



 Cover up half of your nails using the painter's tape and then paint 2 coats of white.


Once the nail polish if dry, remove the tape and you can see a nice clean line.



Using a darker colour (I used OPI - Baby It's "Coal" Outside), paint 2 coats on the other half of the nail.

 Using black acrylic, mould a rectangle strip diagonally across the nail.


Using silver rhinestones, glue 2 rows just below the black acrylic strip. For the second line, I alternate between a large and a medium size stone. I used the magical tray and pick to create this entire set of nails as it requires a lot of rhinestones. See my post from December last year where I featured the Magical Tray 'Magical New Haul'. The combination of them both cuts the time spent by half!


Cover your 3D acrylic strip with a gel top coat and cure under the UV lamp.



You'll need a piece of aluminium foil, black acrylic powder, monomer, acrylic brush and a small pair of scissors.


Pick up a large blop of acrylic and mould it into a flat rectangle shape onto the aluminium foil.


I'm using a slow drying acrylic powder so that you can have more time to mould the acrylic before it hardens. Once the acrylic rectangle is hard enough to be lifted from the foil, slowly lift it using a pincer. Using a pair of scissors, trim off the 4 sides of the rectangle so that you get a straight line.



Using the pincer again, pinch the acrylic rectangle in the middle to form a bow.

Create a smaller strip of acrylic rectangle and trim off the sides. Wrap this acrylic strip around the middle section of the bow while it's still soft. I used a combination of acrylic and glue to attach the bow onto the nails. cover bow with gel top coat and cure for 90 seconds.


This is the completed bow attached onto the nail tip.


 These are the design for the rest of the nails.





It looks quite complicated creating this bow, but it was quite easy once you start making it. This is the first time I'm creating the 3D acrylic bow using this method. Please let me know if you've got any questions.
