Leopard print seems to be the most in thing this season. I see it everywhere in the shops from clothing to accessories. This nail art incorporates leopard print, but in a soft and pretty kinda way.

I used 2 colours for the base, however they look very similar you can hardly see the difference in these photos. OPI - Your Royal Shyness is used nearer to the cuticles and MAC - Cream Light Affair is used where the leopard print is.

As for the middle brown stripe, I used OPI - Suzi Loves Cowboys. I also stick on silver striping tape along the brown lines.

The leopard print is hand drawn using OPI - Wooden Shoe Like to Know? and Tickle My France-Y

To give it a soft look, I added white acrylic flowers and white pearls. Some gold metal buttons were also added to give it more colour.
I love bright cheerful colours, especially so this summer. It started when my dear hushand bought me a bright yellow handbag during our anniversary. From that day on, I bought quite a few bright coloured, shoes and nail polish ...hehe it's so nice to be surrounded by all these cheerful colours.

Sorry about the picture quality on some of these photos, they were taken from my handphone.

These 2 sets of nail art were created in December 2011.

I love this blue nail polish with white lace nails. The best thing about them was that they were very simple and quick to create. Just nail polish, wait for it to dry, apply the nail stickers, finish with top coat and you're done. My sister bought these nail stickers for me from Sasa.

Nail Polish Used: - OPI - Yoga-Ta Get This Blue!

The second set was done using one of my favourite red nail polish from OPI - Red Hot Ayers Rock
I always go back to it when I want a happy red :)

This set of nails was created on full cover nail tips, made specially for my dear friend Wendy who got married in December last year. Her favourite colour is purple :) I was afraid they were a bit too long but it looked absolutely perfect on her!

Nail polish used was OPI - Yokohama Twilight

There were a few green and blue glitters in my nail polish collection that I've never used before. Recently, I added OPI's GONE GONZO! to the collection. Since some of these glitters were pretty sheer, I decided to use them to re-create a summer sea turtle, frangipani theme nail art  I originally saw in a nail magazine.

First I applied 3 coats of OPI's Happy Anniversary.

Then using these 2 very very sheer glitter nail polish from Chi Chi, I layered them on my nails. Green glitter nearer the free edge and blue above the green 3/4 way up.

Then I applied OPI's GONE GONZO! In the middle where the 2 glitters meet.

Using The Face Shop nail colour GR501, I added a bit more green to the nail tips, just to give it a pretty glow.

I'm not sure if you guys can see it, I used 2 different coloured crushed sea shells and glued them on to the centre of my middle and last finger nails. The Frangipanis were drawn on using acrylic. The trick to drawing frangipani is to make sure that the colour acrylic stays in the centre and when you mould the flower, flatten one side of the petal so that the next petal can sit very close the previous one. It gives the impression that one petal is tucked under the other.I finished it off by adding some extra gems here and there and some gel top coat over the 3D acylic to give it extra protection..

Where is the Sea Turtle? haha here it is!

Hi everyone I'm finally back blogging! Sorry I've been away for nearly a whole year! For those who know, I was very busy last year with house moving. It was so stressful and hectic but very fun at the same time. I'm finally settled into my new place with most of the issues sorted out.

During the most part of the second half of last year, my nails were kept very short and with no nail polish on. I had to do that for practical reasons. We were moving lots of furniture, dismantling and assembling lots of stuff and doing lots of scrubbing and cleaning. It wasn't until late November 2011 that I started wearing nail polish again. My hands by then were dry and yucky looking. It took me a while and with some proper love and care to bring them back to health.

I have started creating lots of new nail art and can't wait to share them with you guys!

Lets start with this set of nails I created last year, before I cut them all down for the big move.
They were created because I had to attend a spring wedding. I applied a clear gel overlay on my natural nails, then applied off white nail gel to the top and the bottom part of the nail. Using acrylic paint, I painted the crosses on the clear section of the nail. Then I applied a layer of clear gel to seal it up. Before I cure the top gel coat, I added the pink glitter flakes so that it sticks onto the nail after it cures. Using acrylic powder, I created the 3D nail art. I love how shiny gel nails are and how much longer the last on the nails. But the curing process takes up so much time. I am still learning how to apply an even amount of gel over the nails.

I love nautical nail designs! For some reason, I'm very drawn to this nail design and have since created 2 similar versions. The first time I created this set of nails was back in December 2010. I like it so much, I've made a similar set last week, with some slight variations. This is the first time I've worn the same design twice is such a short span of time!

It takes me approximately 4 hours to create this design. This includes removal of the previous design, reshaping and prepping the nail. The first design was created with Colour Club - Soft Chiffon  and OPI - Yoga-Ta Get This Blue!

To create this design, I coloured my nails with 3 coats of Soft Chiffon. Using a small brush, I draw 2 to 3 blue horizontal stripes, depending on nail size. Then line the stripes with gold glitter. Using white and dark pink acrylic powder, draw the 3D flowers only on the thumb, middle and ring fingers. Stick on some craft chains and rhinestones and you're done!

I used a much smaller gold chains for this nautical nail art. Not only do they look nice, they are a lot easier to wear. The bigger chains I've used previously were always getting in the way when I style my hair or wear my clothes!

This is the second set I've created last week. My nails are a bit longer which means I have slightly more room to draw on. I've also changed my nail shape and used different brands of nail polish.

2 Coats OPI - Alpine White
2 Coats CND - Studio White
The Face Shop -  BL604

There are a few things to take note of when applying these craft gold chains. After you've cut the chain length to fit the nails, make sure you close off the ends properly. If not, they can feel very sharp and will cause damage to your clothes, especially if you're wearing slik or knits.

I used to apply nail glue to my nails first before placing the chain ontop. I've since reversed this application process. Firstly, the glue will cause the gold chain to harden. If you place the chains on top of the glue, it's harder to move them around if you're not happy with the placement. Also, you want to place the chains flat, this will make them much easier to wear.
