These 2 sets of nail art were created in December 2011.

I love this blue nail polish with white lace nails. The best thing about them was that they were very simple and quick to create. Just nail polish, wait for it to dry, apply the nail stickers, finish with top coat and you're done. My sister bought these nail stickers for me from Sasa.

The second set was done using one of my favourite red nail polish from OPI - Red Hot Ayers Rock
I always go back to it when I want a happy red :)

After taking such a long break from nail art, these were the first set I made. It was very different working in a new room, on a new nail table and with a new table layout. You'll notice that my pictures are not as good for this post and on the next few that I'm about to publish. I'll apologise in advance. I'm was experimenting which was the best time and location to take these photos in my new house. I think I've finally figured it out. So you'll get better pictures very soon!




 When OPI's Muppet collection came out, I was madly in love with rainbow connection. The glitters come in different sizes and oh the colours are just simply beautiful! I love layering rainbow connection over another OPI nail polish from the same collection 'Designer.. De Better!'. My mom and I have been wearing it on our toe nails all summer. We can't get enough of it hehe :)

Hand Painted Roses Using Acrylic Paint

I saw this set of teddy bear nails in a nail magazine for Valentines Day. It looks so adorable, I just had to make a set for myself! For this set of nails, I used 3D gels instead of acrylics as they are really easy to mould and will not harden until you cure them under the UV light. That way, you can shape and reshape all you want before setting the design. The only draw back is the longer time taken to wait for the gels to harden under the UV lamp.

It took me ages to get this set done. I think it was 4a.m. before I managed to go to bed (started at 11pm)! But it was really fun making them.

With Chinese New Year just around the corner, I've created a set of red embedded acrylic rose design for my sister.

This is my first time creating embedded acrylic flowers. They are a little bit more time consuming but they certainly look very pretty. I've decided to create a tutorial for this post. Hope you'll give this a try too.

First you'll need some red colour acrylic powder and some monomer.


I'm using a nail tip here for demo but if you're applying over your natural nails, remember to prep it as you normally would for acrylic overlay.

 Apply an even layer of the red acrylic over your nails.


After the acrylic hardens, gently roughen the surface with a nail file.


I've got 2 types of gold glitter here. One is an extra shimmery gold glitter and the other is a flaky glitter.


Apply the flaky glitter at the top part of the nail and the other one at the bottom of your nail.

Allow the acrylic to hardden and dry out. Then use an electric file to file back the clear red acrylic until the white rose petals start to appear. You can manually file it back as well, but the electric file will definitely be faster.


Use a finer file to even out the nail and then apply a layer of gel to seal it.


These are some of the other nails that I've created using the same method. You can also just embed the gold glitter and flaks. They look very nice on their own as well.

My colleague recently got married and I gave her this set of nails to match her watermelon red evening gown. On the wedding day, I realised that the colour also matched her hand bouquet!

We recently went on a trip south of Perth to visit the Manjimup Wine & Truffle Co. It's truffles season in Australia between May to August. If you love the smell of this beautiful but expensive fungus, you must visit this place and participate in their truffle hunt.

We feasted on this amazing gourmet delicacy during our visit and paid $9 per 3 grams to have more truffles added to our meals!

The past few weeks have been so crazy. I've started my next round of fertility treatment where I have to self inject needles into my stomach daily. I've not been scared of needles but injecting it yourself is totally different! The nurses were very helpful at the clinic. They allowed me to practise injecting into a fake belly and then teach me how to do it on the real belly hahaha. I'm now an expert in self injection! Only problem every morning is to find a spot on my tummy that haven't been pricked!

2nd crazy thing is that my home phone have gone all weird. I can only make local land line calls. If I try to call a mobile phone, or to other states within the country, it doesn't work at all! I've been complaining to my provider Eftel for 3 weeks and there have been nothing done! I'm really annoyed with them.

I'm building a new house at the moment and it's really frustrating dealing with them. There's been a lot of hidden items we were not aware of. Everyone I speak to gives me a different story.

Luckily I can always 'escape' into my nail room for a few hours and just concentrate on nail art. It serves as a getaway where I can forget all my worries and just focus on something I like.

This week's nail art consists of a lot of glitter, a revisit to my 3D gel collection and a new but easy to create nail art technique.

Nail Polish Used:
1.  Butter London - Chancer
2. Shiseido Maquillage - 56

I applied Butter London Chancer on all my finger nails except on the ring finger where I used Maquillage 56.


These are the other materials required. I used some yellow and silver rhinestones, red heart shape flakes and 3D Gel to mould the roses.


First I'll show you how to make this really simple flower using the heart shape flakes. I am using 3D gel over here but you can also use acrylic. Both the 3D gel or acrylic act as a paste to hold this flower design together.

Take a blob of 3D gel and place it on your finger nails. Using a pair of pincers, arrange the hearts around the 3D gel such that I forms a 5 petal flower. Cure this under the UV lamp and repeat the same process ontop of the original flower. This time, place only 4 hearts into the 3D gel. Press some gold bullions into the centre of the gel and cure under UV lamp again. You can seal it with some gel top coat and cure it again.
