I made this set of nails for a friend using pink gel, black fabric lace, which is embedded under clear gel.
I also made some 3D acrylic bows and outlined the edges with silver glitter. It really makes a lot of difference to outline black acrylic bows. It seems to pop up so much more!

Rachel, I'm so glad you like it! You can't imagine how long this took me to complete this. The first set I did was too thick. I had to redo and make the gel a lot thinner.

Hi Katrina, I love lace as well. This is my first time using black lace though. I've only used White and cream coloured ones before.

Hi Silence is Loud, I covered all the entire nail design in gel to protect it. Then it's placed in a box lined with cotton with individual compartments so that it doesn't crush the acrylic bows during transit.

Yah I had many problems with it too. It depends if you like it embedded and glossy like this one or matte without being embedded. I think the next one I will try is air brush lace. But I need to save money for the air brush! It's sooo expensive.

Awesome! I love lace! I came across your blog searching on google for tips on using striping tape, I was going to comment on the post you talked about the striping tape but it was very old from 2009, so I thought you might not even see the comment :P I just bought me some striping tape and I tried using it for the first time today, but when I applied the top coat the color came off the tape! It was a pink tape and the top coat left it silver, after that I let it dry and a little after that the ends of the tape started coming off my nails... how do you keep them on? With top coat only?

Rachel, I do hope I can get an air brush soon. I nearly bought one early this year but I have so much stuff I need to buy to furnish my new house! So saving up for the house came first. ;)

Hey Pinky, thanks for visiting my blog. The striping tape I bought have a thin plastic layer on top. Therefore the colour didn't run. However I had the same problem with the edges curling up after a couple of days. I usually use some nail glue at the edges to prevent the tape curling. Recently, I've also embed it under gel. This solves the curling problem entirely.

Thank you Thriszha! I recently got some soak off gel. It will be easier to remove from my natural nails. I'm going to try this design on my own nails one day.

Hey Andrea! Thanks for dropping by. Lacey look is one of my favourites too;) I'm thinking of doing a bolder look with black lace against red background.

this might seem silly, but how did you get the glitter only on the edges of the bows? =)

Hi Geri I drew it on the edges using a smaller brush.
