I LOVE April. We have the super long weekend during Easter (both Friday and Monday are public holidays) and another long weekend during Anzac Day. Both Charles and I did absolutely nothing and had a wonderful time!
Charles and I have been married for a little more than 3 years now and many people have been asking the same question. 'When are you guys planning for kids?' My friends have been asking, my colleagues and my relatives have asked the same question. Last week, my mother in Law even gave me a fertility doctor's contact number. To be honest, we've been trying for 1 and a half years now. I was a little worried after 1 year and still no news, but I'm taking it easy now. Children are blessing from God and if it's meant to be, I'll eventually have one. In the meantime I'll enjoy my freedom while I can :)
On Saturday afternoon, we had a BBQ with some friends and all of them brought their kids along. We spend the afternoon with the kids picking up sea shells and throwing pebbles into the river. They had such a wonderful time! It's amazing how happy and satisfied kids can get with life's simple pleasures.

Yippee it's the Easter long weekend and I've taken 4 more days off straight after! I'm so in need of this break from work. It's been an extremely stressful week waiting for news. So far I've not heard any news about the security of my job. However, there's already quite a number of staff who's been informed that their role have been made redundant. I hope to find out more info by the end of the month. A BIG Thank You to all my relatives and friends who have given me so much support and prayers through this stressful period.
Well on a lighter note, the reason for the big 'ewwwwwwww' on the title of this post is due to what happened to me on Thursday. Being Easter eve, we has lots of hot cross buns and Easter eggs to eat at work. On top of that, we also had a really yummy chocolate fountain with heaps of strawberrys, bananas, marshmellows...etc. Just as I was leaving work, my big boss came over to wish me happy Easter and gave me a big smooch on my cheeks. Having just eaten from the chocolate fondue, he left a chocolate mark on my face. He pointed at my face and stared laughing, then came the gross part. He licked his finger and used it to rub the chocolate off my face...ewwwwww. I was composed throughout the entire ordeal but spent the next 15 mins in the toilet washing my face.!!!
I was so grossed out, I went for some retail therapy - OPI DS Classic. It's extremely beautiful, very classy and great for office use. The colour is not so out there but the shine is simply stunning!

I was out shopping last Friday evening for
Jane Iredale's Amazing Base Mineral powder and bumped into a lovely girl in the shop. Being beauty fanatics, we could relate to each other and ended up shopping together! She introduced me to this range of Nail Polish from
Kit Cosmetics and I fell in love immediately. The colour is intense and there's a wide range of shimmering colours which I particularly love. There's even a special range called the Changeling where by the nail polish colour actually morph when painted with a top coat. I ended up buying 2 shimmer shades and 1 Changeling shade. Look what I did to dress up the good old shimmery sliver nail polish.

When we were young, I loved playing with my sister's hair. I'll sit her down and tie her hair up in all sorts of manner. I love dolling others up and treated her like my real life Barbie! To this day when we bring up our childhood memories, she'll always complain that I was extremely rough with her hair and caused her lots of pain! (so sorry Small Y) Ofcourse that happened when I was really young and didn't know how to be gentle with one's hair (Barbie didn't seem to mind when I tug and pull at her hair)!
Fastforward 20+ years and I'm still the same today. Ask my aunty who comes over to visit me every year. I've attempted to curl her hair, put on mineral make up etc etc... Ofcourse now that my parents are staying with me, my mom is not spared from being dolled up. She's never tried wearing tights and a big top before and I got her to wear one today. Look at how chic she looks!

There are more and more news every day about recession. Gloom and Doom is all there is on business news. I've heard news from a few friends who have lost their jobs. My heart goes out to those with families to support and a mortgage to pay. The reality of life is that we need money to survive.
The company I've been working for have also recently publicly announced that they will be cutting some staff. It didn't come as a surprise as we're sort of aware that it's coming. However, hearing it publicly announced did set off an alarm in my brain. I guess I'm better off than some in many ways, but going to work every day now without any sense of stability is kind of killing me. The husband have kindly suggested that he's all for me being a tai tai (lady of leisure) if anything happens. However that's not the kind of lifestyle I'm wanting to have, at least not for now.
Well we'll just have to wait it out and see what happens. Please pray.

You might have noticed from my previous post that I've been busy land hunting. After looking around at so many locations, I've decided that I'm still more comfortable living south of the river. In fact, I've been a southling for the past 11 years!
I found a beautiful estate called
Meve. The newest release consists of elevated land with breathtaking views of the city, ocean, surrounding parkland and the hills. I am in LOVE.
I also LOVE (make that double LOVE) the new
Port Coogee Marina. The ocean views just take my breath away! Just look at that
ocean....sigh....
Both estates are pretty near each other but Meve is nearer to the train station. For the same price, I'll be getting half the size of land in Port Coogee as comparted to Meve. Sea view is always much much more expensive!
My dad is also loving Port Coogee, however Charles is a bit weary of rising sea levels. Decisions Decisions.

Oh my goodness I've been so busy at work the past couple of weeks that I feel numb both mentally and physically when I reach home. The last thing I want to do is to think of what to cook at the end of the day. Luckily my parents are around to look after me! I feel so blessed to have them around, not just because I can come home to a lovely meal every night, but also because I somehow feel more at ease and safe to have them around. I really enjoy their company and I love to have some elder people around to talk to when I need some guidance. They are also a great source of entertainment! hahaha They're both wacky and funny in their own ways.
Other then work, I've also been very busy with looking for land and display homes. I think I'm finally ready to own my own house! Looking for a suitable plot of land and home design is both fun and stressful. My head is now in a big mess after seeing and hearing so much. The property market is a bit sluggish now, it's probably a good time to buy, but I'm a bit uncertain about job security Sigh...Practicality aside, I'm currently obsessed with
this house design! I've looked at it so many times now that I know every single detail by heart.
I'll wait for another 4 to 6 weeks before I make a decision. In the mean time, I can just dream!

Like my goth look? I had to tear one square piece of
silver nail foil into small bits and stick them on one by one. Took me 2 hours to complete.

I have always been an anti Facebook person. Not sure why, but have always been and did not have the urge to sign up. It was the beginning of this year, did I realise that the entire world around me (i.e. work mates, friends and family) are already on Facebook. Am I left behind now that everyone have moved on to the "in thing"? I am still undecided...
I went to the Facebook website and looked at it for 10mins, but still could not bring myself to sign up. I am unsure why such a simple thing is taking me ages to decide. Must be getting old.
Anyway I have been land hunting the last 3 days. It's getting very stressful and expensive! If I buy I will have to eat grass and drink rain water everyday. haha
I'll try the Facebook thingy again tomorrow.
